| Guide for 3rd job Spearmen This guide is meant only for people who know they will be spending more time in 3rd job than second job, as it will have perfect stats for third job, but will therefore require more out of you for leveling up in second job
SP ALLOCATION FOR THE HYBRID SPEARMAN
Level 30 – 36: 19 Pole Arm Mastery
Level 37 – 38: 6 Pole Arm Booster
Level 39: 3 Iron Will
Level 40 – 50: 30 Hyper Body
Level 51: 3 Pole Arm Booster
Level 52 – 53: 6 Iron Will
Level 54: 1 Iron Will, 2 Spear Mastery
Level 55 – 60: 18 Spear Mastery
Level 61: 1 Spear Mastery, 2 Spear Booster
Level 62 - 69: 27 Spear Booster (29)
Level 70: 1 Spear Booster, 2 for whatever you want
OK, the reasoning for this is that it maxes both pole arm and spear, which is important for third job because the third job skills (fury and buster) have fixed animations, which affect the damage for each weapon:
Fury hits up to 6 monsters for i believe 130%... ALWAYS does a downward motion, which is usefull for pole arms that get an extra damage boost from downward animation
Buster hits up to 3 monsters 3 times for 170%x3 (510% of raw damage - enemy def x3 = damage to 1 enemy) This skill will ALWAYS do a stabbing motion, which benefit spears
What are the benefits of this knowledge?
Well, if you were to train in a room with HUGE spawns of not so strong monsters, you would want to equip a pole arm and use fury, since it is 1.38 times faster, and hits 6 enemies
However, if you were in a room with an ok (or nearly no spawn at all... thinking of zakum ...) spawn of very strong monsters, you would want to use a spear with fury, as you would want to take them out as quickly as possible --which wont be very quick-- so you would gain the greatest benefit from training for said amount of time
How come you didnt max pole arm booster?
I didnt max Pole arm booster because, in third job, you will be using spears more often, and therefore you would want its booster as high as possible, whereas pole arm booster is left at 6 because it will give the same benefits in speed but at a higher mp/hp cost, and so if you're not going to use that skill much, why max it?
Why did you raise Pole Arm at the beginning and Spear at the end?
Because Pole Arms have more stable damage, and are generally faster (unless you can get ahold of a maple impaler: spear with fast speed = godly),
and so it will help your training more to raise it first, and only use spear in third job (I.E use Gold Dragon to fight Dances with Balrog's twin, then if you can afford it, get a redemption...)
Why did you spend 10 levels raising hyper body?
Because those ten levels are the ludi pq levels, and so people generally like to party with at least one spearman with hyper body to raise the party's max hp and max mp... Also, it is the only thing worth raising to help train (iron will wont be used much... so i raised it 3 so you can raise hyperbody... and then the spear mastery and booster, as I said earlier, wont be used until third job, and wont help at all midway through second)
Anyway, Thanks for reading my first guide, all credits go to me and the people at gamefaqs, hidden-street, sleepywood, and basilmarket =]
note: I didnt read over this so I might have some spelling mistakes, if so, tell me and I'll change it =]
