I need a new controller, xbox 360 elite...

I have a xbox 360 elite console, and it has sat for a bit, but am breaking it back out, it powers on and everything but the controller no longer works. Are there "new" controllers that can be purchased that will work? Thanks for any info. FYI, old controller sat with batteries in it for over ten years. I'm assuming that is why it won't work. I tried cleaning it up, but the corrosion messed things up internally. Thanks. again.

No, you don't need to look for something specific. Just make sure the item listing states the controller is compatible with the Xbox 360 whether if the controller is wireless or not.

Regarding the new controller you said Microsoft has listed, could you share a direct link to the listing, or were you referring to the controllers listed on this site?

If it's the second option, those controllers are compatible with Xbox One and newer consoles. So, if you get one of these controllers, even if you connect it wired, the Xbox 360 will not recognize it.

Unfortunately, the Xbox 360 was discontinued a long time ago, I doubt you can find an original brand-new controller for the system.
For this reason, you may want to be careful when seeing listing from sellers claiming the controller is original and brand new because most of the time it's a replica.

Therefore, if you're interested in getting a brand-new controller (or used ones), you will find them via Amazon, eBay, local shops, etc. but not from the Microsoft Store and the chances of getting an original one are low. However, the controller will work on your Xbox 360 without problems.

Mainly, I wanted to know if there was anything specific I needed to look for when purchasing one off of Amazon. Plus, I see Microsoft also lists a new wireless controller, but doesn't list the 360 as compatible but didn't know if that was just omission due to age of 360 or if the controller won't actually work with the 360. Thanks.

I bought a 360 copy of Far Cry 2, played it on a new 360 console with a new 360 controller - and the bad aiming controls are nearly exactly the same as on Xbox 1 with Xbox 1 controller and elite controller.

Please ask Ubisoft to fix aiming. I’ve contacted them as well, but with no acknowledgement.

My Xbox elite controller just stopped working yesterday on a recently purchased laptop but already had the anniversary update on it so I can't roll back to the previous version of Windows 10.

I've noticed now that in the device and printer section of the Control Panel I've got a Xbox 360 controller for Windows entry which isn't present on another version of Windows 10 install on my desktop PC so this laptop now has two entries the elite controller
and the Xbox 360 controller in Control Panel.If I disabled the Xbox 360 controller entry I get functionality on the elite controller but on a restart Windows the 360 controller reappears in Control Panel and in device manager.

Strange thing that for a week since I've had this new laptop everything was working fine in, now steam doesn't recognise the elite controller and windows hasn't done an update so how's this happened?
